Does the mattress roll back to reveal a hot tub?

On the one side of the road, there are only two houses that aren't boarded up. If everyone else gets moved on, and I mean everyone, it might not be so bad a place to live.
The reason they are boarded up is because the area is getting ready to be demolished, all these houses are coming down to be replaced by shiny new houses like these a few yards away. These places above are rough but compared to some inner city places I've seen on here I know which areas are worse.

Short version.....it doesnt! she is old and probably likes mushy fruit that doesnt stick in her dentures.
I saw a bit of this crappy programme the other week, some old goat poring coke down the toilet because it is much cheaper than cleaning products. She tipped half a bottle down the bog and then said " I will leave that until tomorrow and when I come back the toilet will be spotless".
Tomorrow ffs? Is her house full of toilets or is she all bladder?
She just pisses in the empty bottles.

If you see a property advertised on the internet or a board outside a house you like the look of....what is stopping anyone knocking on the door or putting a note through the letter box.....a seller requires a sale after all, they shouldn't be too fussy about where it comes from...
Nothing to stop you but the seller is still contractually obliged to pay a fee to the EA so no great advantage to them.
How would you have known it was for sale without their advertising?

Hi
Wondering if anyone has any knowledge regarding my situation of a backdated contract.
Spoke to my landlady last weekend and she told us she was thinking of putting the house we rent from her on the market. She's a head teacher and we rented privately from her when she moved away for work.
Her plans were obviously more advanced than she let us think as three days later we've received some post from her confirming her intentions to sell, asking if we are interested in buying and saying she will want possession of the house in June 2011.
Now if she wants to sell then fine, she is way overpricing and will not shift it. So be it.
Now the relevant part if you are still here, she has included an AST for 6 months backdated from 28/12/10 so that it finishes at the time she wants possession.
If I sign this today, 02/03/11, and date it does it apply from today or the artificial date she applied?
So could we get 6 months from now or would her 4 months actually be enforcable?
I realise I don't have to sign a new contract as we are currently on a rolling contract but some extra time might be useful if we can get it.
Sorry it's a bit long winded, any info is appreciated.

Wouldn't this also invalidate any insurance, either on the property or on the contents?

People just do not remember what paying rates like 9% is like. But during the next few years some will find out. So they thought a £250k Loan at 5 times salary was great. But when they have to pay 9% it will cost £2100 per month. Not too many people can manage to pay out £25200 pa before any other bills. And what's more, in the SE many houses between £250-300k are relatively modest semis or even terraced. If it is rented the LL will be sorely out of pocket. The rent might be £1000 to 1300 pm max on these homes.
Then it'll be Time To Raise The Rents.

PAID is the key word here.
I wouldn't mind being paid very little if my housing was paid for, food was paid for, travel was paid for, and food was paid for by my employer.
Housing, food and travel aren't paid for though are they, they come out of their wages.
Would you mind being paid very little in those circumstances, or do you think they know what they signed up for.

Land Registry at 11am Monday too.

With the anguish proclaiming bigotry in this thread, I found this sign posted by the squatters inside the house rather quaint.

A thread about Hartlepool is never complete until we mention the monkey hanger story.
"Monkey hanger" is an affectionate term by which Hartlepudlians are often known.
According to local folklore, the term originates from an incident in which a monkey was hanged in Hartlepool. During the Napoleonic wars, a French ship of the type chasse marée was wrecked off the coast of Hartlepool. The only survivor was a monkey, wearing a French uniform (presumably to provide amusement for those onboard the ship). On finding the monkey, some locals decided to hold an impromptu trial on the beach; since the monkey was unable to answer their questions, and many locals were unaware of what a Frenchman may look like, they concluded that the monkey was in fact a French spy. Just to make sure, the animal was thus sentenced to death and hanged from the mast of a fishing boat on the Headland.
People say this like it's a stupid thing but we've not been bothered by the French since. Or the monkeys.

Sounds like you're paying 45k over a 30 year period? Toaster insurance springs to mind.
I guess it's really up to how worried you are.
360 months x £28 = £10080
or have I missed something

There is a simple answer to that - shop him. Unless it was a close friend I would have no issue shopping someone who is blatently stealing from the rest of us.
The Facebook videos and Sunday league football will be enough to stop his 'disabilty' benefits.
If you would report someone you don't like why would you make an exception for a close friend?

Iain Duncan Smith will this week announce that families will not lose large chunks of their housing benefit from April next year, as first announced, but will, in fact, have until the following year to arrange somewhere cheaper to live.
The Work and Pensions Secretary will make the concession this week, as part of moves to head off possible protests about the clampdown, which will see housing benefit payments capped at £400 a week.
It is understood senior Liberal Democrat members of the Coalition demanded the concessions to avoid the possibility of protests next April, which could have fuelled a damaging political row just before the May local elections.

I'm sick of this shit so written the following to the Mail on Sunday and the independent. I'll write to any other paper that prints a story on it too.
Dear Sir,
RE: 'A Window Opens For New Mortgage Deals' The Mail on Sunday, November 21st
The FSA are proposing that in future mortgages will be lent only if the borrower can afford to repay it. Steve Coogan director general of the council of mortgage lenders

Hi,
If you can't see any previous details when looking at a property in Rightmove since they updated try this fix as suggested on HPC .
In Firefox .
Goto Tools/Options/Privacy/
If you have cookies turned on
click on exceptions
put http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ in the address bar and click BLOCK .
You should now be able to see the PB history when visiting a RM page .
I would like to take credit, but it's not my fix, this is from whowhatme and I found this on the property bee website http://www.property-bee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2389
This will only work for older versions of Firefox, in the latest version you block cookies this way.

This works on my PB by the way.

Grab those places while you can.

Holmside is not too far from me, it's this place
One of those few houses by the side of the road type places. No facilities and nothing to do. You can see pretty much everything in the streetview pic. Those little terraces can't be worth more than 80k surely. Just noticed there are 5 for sale signs in the streetview picture, out of about 25 houses so can't be too popular.

£95,000-a-year benefits family
Has a breakdown of their handouts.
Not sure if you are just trolling or are really that dim mr sharpe.
They may be an extreme with 10 kids but millions of people in this country live this way.

I've just completed on a repossesion last week.
In my case the owners name is still on the LR documents, which I believe is the usual way.
The final part of the process is that the solicitor registers the property in the new owners name after completion, which is the stage I am at now.
