  1. It does say in the tenancy that we have to give the Landlord or the Landlords agent access provided we recieve 24 hours notice... I don't mind them doing viewings provided I am in at the time - I understand that the landlord needs to relet the place. The reason I want to be in is that I have a house cat and the other half doesnt want it getting stressed out, also we have lots of gadgety type stuff that I wouldnt want going missing (ipod, phone, laptops, psp etc) - all on charge about the house most of the time.
  2. Hi all, I am moving out of my rented house soon and so have given notice to my letting agent and landlord. Does anyone know whether I am within my rights to demand that viewings are only carried out whilst either me or my partner are in attendance? We both work full time so this would mean only evening and weekend viewings... Many thanks in advance, Steve
  3. Hi, There is a clause in my contract (a 12 month AST) that says that rent will increase with RPI annually. Does anyone know if this is enforceable? I'm hoping that the AST will go into a rolling 1 / 2 month notice type thing after 12 months, but am not prepared to pay any more on the rent... can I simply refuse to pay any increase even though I've signed the contract? Thanks in advance, Steve
  4. I have recently agreed to rent a house, and have the contract to sign. This has a clause that says that no pets are allowed without written agreement from the landlord. My partner and I do not have any pets, but are keen to get a couple of kittens soon after moving in. Just wondering what our position would be if we just went and got them after moving in... what the consequences of not telling the Landlord would be? The place is completely unfurnished, with wood floors throughout downstairs. Any rental experts on here know where we stand on this? Thanks! Steviola
  5. Has anybody noticed that rightmove has started to put 'Price Reduced' under proprerties? Its in a similar style to when they go 'sold stc' steviola Edit - You'd think i'd get spelling right on my first post
