  1. this house is up with just about every e. agent if you google holystone avenue whitley bay for sale. the price varies on each site. pattersons has the price at 275 i think. thanks for the advice, i didnt realise this was a rough area. yes i have cash and no chain.
  2. hi, been watching a house in holystone avenue whitley bay originally priced around £300.000. traditionall 3 bed sem which has been extended to 5 beds. very expensive to heat now with fuel sky high.) it hasdropped to £275.00 with about 6 weeks . spoke to a very patronising ea who said if i had no chain and made a cash offer they might accept £250.00. i still think this house is not worth more than £180-90 to be honest.
  3. i work in asda part time in north east. Figures are down from last year, hours are being cut, more people piling in at closing time, very infuriating for staff who want to get home and are late, but shows people are sniffing out those woops reductions. shopping trolleys are reduced, more brand and smart price goods, less luxuries, store credit card applications .been increased but more rejected for bad credit history, other shops quiet and closing down in area, more to buy or let signs up everywhere, easter sale prices in estate agents knocking off 15,000 from house prices, people moaning about prices rising and petrol prices yet noboby seems to have twigged yet what is happening!? , the lull before the storm i think.
  4. can i recommend an excellent post on the house price crash forum by xyy man.and respondents. just type in hartlepool house price crash on search. it brings up pictures which truly says it all. as mentioned dennis dowen(as in going down) estate agents are having a winter sale which means virtually every property in his window has red reduced signs plastered over them. some from 5-40 per cent knocked off. considering they put up prices by 30 per cent post 2005 it is meant to let us think we are getting a bargain. an estate agents next door has closed down also. .
  5. I hope so! ive recently bought an apartment in stella maris court umag. I think prices have peaked and will level off for a few years until Croatia enters EU. Even then it will be a slow rise now but continous and steady for 10 -15 years. Only guesswork of course. Anything could happen. Istria is beautiful, so even with worst case scenario, i would be happy to spend lots of time there.
  6. cosmopolitan Hartlepool can offer very nice 3 bed semi's with garage and garden, alternatively 2-3 bed apartments overlooking the marina.unfortunately we can oly offer supermarkets and call centre wages! still youre all welcome.
  7. love the way all flats are all luxury flats, not bog standard. in the words of a marc almond song, there pulling down the old slums to build the new. people never learn! by the way whaat do you think to the absurd prices in kirkstall?
  8. hi, i lived in Egypt for 2 years. remember, flies, mosquitos, dodgy tummies, corruption and reports on theft near hurghada, political instability and global warming which estimates within 20 years droughts near nile, coastal flooding in low lying areas of red sea areas. we where looking at hurhgada and despite my gloom would like to buy 1 bed apartment in sharm for holiday home, good local flights from newcastle, but not as investment. too many cheap deals in hotels as mentioned above. lots of luck.
  9. hi , for marina berthing, cheap as chips and very nice come to sunny hartlepool
  10. ok spain, cyprus, bulgaria to fall, hungary, morocco stable, berlin, croatia, cape verde, egypt to rise, just a guess of course
  11. how about istria? try stella maris court apartments, due to complete building around june this year, 150 metres from beach, private access, roof top swimming pool, beside atp tennis tournament, near border of slovenia, italy(trieste) airport and pula., 2 hours ferry to venice, lots of tourists,,many one night stays for rental. eu membership estimated in 2008-2009, huge investment in area , capital appreciation in last 3years between 15- 20 per cent and expected to be around 12 per cent for nest year, including building of golf courses etc. gorgeouse country !
  12. 7 days later and now they are offering to pay stamp duty and saying they will be willing to negiotate price if buyer can proceed immediately. Getting twitchy?
  13. my next door neighbour and a house exactly the same as mine only with an extension as opposed to mine with a mere conservatory, have gone on the market last week, i have just sold my house after 14 months, for a knockdown price(but realistic) of 250,000, they have put their houses up for sale at 340,000 and 355,000! either i have got it badly wrong or they are living in cloud cuckoo land!. Even with new kitchen, extension, redecoration, general tarting up, i cant see how they justify the excess 40-55,000 pounds for location etc. house prices have dropped and sales are sticking in Hartlepool, especially considering this should be the busiest period of the year.It will be interesting to see if they sell and how quickly. naturally, from a selfish point of view, i hope they dont.
