Just some anecdotal evidence.

I have lived in Balham (on this road) for 14 years. Only 6 years ago, 3 bed houses went for about 120k. They are now between 450-500k. On my road at present, there are 11 for sale/sold/to let signs. We usually have about 3/4, during the selling season and for the last 4 years, properties have sold quickly. One house in particular, has had a sold sign up for over 4 months. I am just waiting to see if this chain actually completes.

Most properties seem to sitting for longer than usual. Wandsworth has continued to have quite high HPI for the last 2 years (not inc. August's data), according to the LR. I remember, however, that 18 months to 2 years ago, 3 bedroom houses were being marketed at 550/550k. The ones currently on are between 450k and 500k.
