    There will be no 'recovery' apart from in no-skill, low-wage 'service' jobs because we don't make very much here at all;

That’s what immigration is all about, deliveroo, Hermes, hand car wash, pedi cabs, Uber, amazon, it’s just low paid slave Labour.. we could easily live without them..

So full blown riots it is then.. As long as they keep getting away with it they will.. HPI is like a drug to them now, just buy another, then another.. it’s like Monopoly, they won’t be happy till they own entire roads, hotels and all the train stations.. the way the Tories are going they soon will..

Maybe it’s civil war we will end up with.. poor vs rich.. we have a bigger army.  although the way the army/police have been treated the MP’s will be lucky if they are on their side..

They are all band aids now,  just limp patching up trying to hold back a tsunami, would be like trying to empty a fast running bath with a colander. Yes of course they will probably try but the big guns of gone. Low interest rates, political excepted QE and the one I personally believe is up The real victims in the UK now are not the people who start huge families while on welfare and then claim they are struggling, it's the people who are working all hours and where even two wages has to be topped up with welfare who cannot hold their heads up high and be rewarded with what they deserve.

No, any kind of tinkering with the housing market is not going to work this time even though like you say they will probably try. I once was naive to believe that politicians always really know whats going in in the their country, even in the dark shadows. But so many times I have been proven wrong, I honestly believe this government has no idea of the pain that so many people are enduring in this country right now, and by that I mean people who deserve far better and who are more than willing to put into their society.

Immigration has been a stick to beat down the wages and standard of living.. It’s a total disaster..

I do believe we are heading for total collapse or something worse.. Our housing benefit is £27 billion and will rise every single year with immigration and generation rent retiring.. They are now starting to squeeze benefits and limit benefits to 2 children.

Instead of this forcing down rent prices I think the plan is to just squeeze people into yet smaller slave boxes!

Revolution? I don’t think so.. I read so many comments on social media, anyone who thinks CEO’s don’t deserve their 1000x wage increases is jealous and should have worked harder.. People are so thick, They are getting screwed and patting those on the back that are screwing them!

Back in the day 2 regular jobs would buy a nice house.. dustman, nurse, teacher, road sweepers , shop workers all could afford a nice home, you never had to be a CEO or rocket scientist to afford to live.. Now it’s your fault for not studying that you live in such poor conditions.. WHY.. !

see people  living in a cars down my relatives road.. ?

    Are you sure about this?

I find ladlord is runs more strongly in Laboury type.

    Blair, Meacher, etc.

It’s across both parties for sure, but May, Hammond, Sajid, Hunt, Cameron.. all Landlords.. Those with the political power to manipulate.. Let’s not forget Osborn had 6 jobs..

OR 6 lots of brown envelopes to implement policy that favours his elite backers for money..

I think the reason both Labour M P’s and Tories are against Corbyn is his stance on bank regulation and talk of LVT.. The Blairites want rid of him before he spoils their party.. Even 36 BTL properties Blair must hate Corbyn..

When we start getting year on year falls this time I don't see a new average property high for at least a couple of decades, there just is no ammo left in the armoury for the BOE, they are just left with pointy sticks.

If they reversed S24, extended mortgage terms to 30/40 years, gave the young 10k each, reversed stamp duty for 2nd properties..

They could keep the bubble going.. Although when generation rent retired it would bankrupt the country with housing benefit claims! Although I think that’s going to happen anyway..

You have to remember the Tories front bench are landlord, land owners who’s mates are house builders and bank directors..

There is no level of dipravity they won’t go too in order to enrich themselves at the expense of the majority of the population..

it still astounds me that Philip Hammond owns a house building company but is in charge of our budget.. it’s so corrupt..

They do that everyday with food......keep supply down prices high.....the world we live in.?

Premium handbag manufacturers do it as well.. Louis Viton never goes on sale.. They burn all unsold stock..

its  sick really, if we ever have a chance of rescuing this planet this practice should be banned..

i read VW destroyed cars as well in the U.S after the emissions scandal.. From forecourt to crusher!

Never really felt that was on the cards. It's too direct.

Something like the TFS allows them to hose money at the housing market while simultaneously shovelling it towards the bankers so they can get a nice cut.

Plus the TFS goes almost unmentioned, whereas interest rate changes get a load of publicity.

They are giving Germans €12’000 each towards housing.. I think the Ponzi scheme is global..

i get the feeling that Trump is not playing ball, he is more interested in tax cuts, oil and coal than propping up the housing racket.. His push could force the ECB and BOE into inflation and raising rates.

Nothing to do with having another Newcastle arriving in the UK every year expecting to be housed, in the main, for free? The analysis is a joke.

I’ve said it on here many times..

we import 65% of our food

we have killed 70% of our pollinating insects

our sea, rivers and lakes are full of plastic and we take more fish out than are being reproduced leading to eventual fish/food shortage.

we cut down 15 million trees on the earth every single year!

I want to protect this country from the disaster that is just around the corner.. But all remainers care about is money. People are so thick they can’t see that what we are doing will kill us all.. money is made up.. it’s not real, we are as brainwashed into this world/economy crap as much as religious fruit cakes are.. without realising the system is not there to help us, but to serve those who control it and they only care about themselves not the future generations they are murdering with their GREED!! ?

The new tool of "unexplained wealth orders" began on 31 January and have already been used. Let's see how many are used by the end of the year.

New laws won’t really help when we don’t have the resources to enforce the laws we already have..

Thanks to CONservative cuts most boroughs don’t catch/investigate a single burglar each year!

I would guess any new laws would just be a way of bamboozling the system making it even more complicated and achieve nothing..

What we need is MP’s and bankers that are decencent law abiding human beings, until that happens we are wasting our time..

The car wash thing is an interesting example of how automation is going backwards due to our barely controlled volume of immigration. The number of automatic car washes has halved in the last 15 years as dirt cheap imported sponge wielding labour makes them uneconomical.

It enables some businesses to work stupid instead of smart, and no doubt game the working tax credits system or carry out  cash in hand fiddles, etc.

I have long said this rubbish about how we desperately need more migrants is a lie.. How can London be a prosperous city when all over we have people working on tiny wages being topped up with housing benefit and working tax credit..

How can we become a thriving economic powerhouse when we are importing some of the most stupid vile people in the world.. working in construction footprints on toilet seats and poo on the wall and floor is normal for me now.. As for our lack of builders the people I see turn up with no skills from all over the world, live in slum houses with 15 other people, then learn on the job.. They are not skilled builders.. that’s a massive lie.. They just start on tiny labourers wages living like animals and learn off each other.. to the detriment of our own young who are denied the opportunity to learn these skills..

I watched a program about a farm that had been automated.. cost a few £ but now is more efficient than ever..

Cheap migrant Labour is a short term plug for a very big financial hole.. when these people who pay very little/no  tax retire all our public services collapse bankrupt..

Young guns buy the decent Japanese bikes, the discerning middle aged biker probably buys BMW and the person looking to create a large hole in their pocket buys an overpriced/overhyper/over here Harley.

I'm no biker though.iirc @Greg Bowman or anyone else who uses motorbike, might be able to enlightenWhen I was a kid Harley were cool.

I have rented a Harley in the U.S.. put my Mrs on the back.. it was amazing..

They make allot of noise, drink allot of fuel but are very slow by bike standards..

The other problem was cornering,, as soon as you lean the bike over the foot plates hit the ground..

As a U.S bike with long straight roads and warm sun it’s amazing..

In the U.K. with cold crappy weather, pot holes and roundabouts.. all that shiny metal to polish.. no thanks..

    how?

That seems a very narrow minded response..

Except for the physical aspects of this planet, trees, plants, animals..

Everything else is invented, It is invented to create winners and losers, slaves and masters..

The richest are hardly ever the smartest, they are the greediest, the most ruthless.. and also they tend to be in the correct circles of associates.. I found in my career the people at the top of the company were really thick in comparison to myself even.. I know of 6 people that worked at my company who were all well paid, but were there as they were mates/family of the directors..

There is nothing we can’t change, we could just scrap every law if we wanted, divide the land equally between the people, give everyone free money and only work to produce what we need, not what we want..

greed is a cancer that’s destroying what is real, the planet ? .. everything else is just made up..

It would be nice if the epic financial crisis could come first though.

I think our economy is a bit like that charity, “Kids Company” The Government we’re pumping millions in, but the fingers in the pot we’re taking 100’s of millions out..

Our countries financial problems are quite similar.. All the tax that goes in, is offset by all the rich tax avoidance, dodgy deals and corruption.. with a ballooning benefits bill for good measure and selling off what little is left of our land and assets just to pay the electric bill!

It mathematically is a disaster, if you pay £100 off you credit card every month but spend £500 on it.. you are only going to end up with one result eventually.. just depends on how long you can keep increasing your credit limit!

  13. 10 hours ago, hayder said:

Can they maintain that for the next 7 years?

    Yes.

Help to buy at 80% up to £3M

Include resales in Help to Buy

    Load em up.

    Not a chance..

    1) it’s political suicide for the Tories.. social collapse if this continues..

    2) our housing benefits bill is £26 billion thanks to rent/housing/imigration..

As generation rent retire with NO assets, that bill will spiral.. Remember we cut the police budget by another £750 million recently as we can’t afford it.. But housing benefit will rise by billions as those who have been priced out retire without the means to pay their rent.. if they are forced to move to cheaper rent this could also lead to problems with their care as they are moved away from their support networks..

on top of increasing housing for immigrant families on low pay..

Housing benefit Its a ticking time bomb! It will take more of our taxes than schools and police combined within a couple of years.. just to pay rent!

    3) our Government debt is £2 trillion, plus another £5 trillion for future pensions, our credit cards and loans are back to 2007 levels why cost of living is even higher..

    4) I see jobs disappearing on a daily basis.. we are near gridlock in London from Uber drivers alone.. There seems to be work, but I think allot of it is 16hours a week with benefits.. There is no real economy just a thin veneer of something that looks like one..

    5) Trump/FED

Immigration is not a bad thing, British people live and work all over the world, a good thing, protectionism and prejudice is a bad thing....if scarce land with planning permission had not become so lucrative (we have exported a lot of our industries and land overseas and continue to do so) all people would have somewhere reasonable to live....higher sale prices drive up rents.....this was happening at the same time as interest rates fell to rock bottom...so an owner wins twice, the renter loses twice.....

It is the policy makers and lenders who have driven up property and rent prices, intentionally.....there are both winners and losers in this, the side affects of policies that got out of control, emergency measures, money created as debt....I agree that compared with other countries including EU countries we did lose control of immigration,  that has negatively impacted mostly on the working poorer in competition with scarce resources.....the wealthy do not have to compete with housing, health, jobs or transport, even education......they also pay less for debt and less in taxes as a  proportion of their income.......therefore not surprising some are angry.;)

I think immigration has been terrible..

7000 (that we’re referred to the NHS) cases of female genital mutilation last year, 0% of these cases have anything to do with British people.. These are 100% imported problems.. it will cost 100’000s to mentally stabilise and try and fix the damage done by the butchers!

Had anyone British ever blown themselves up before immigration?

Did we have many honour killings?

How high was London gun and knife crime?

How many millions do we spend on integration policies, benefits and housing?

But my biggest gripe is I don’t think with global warming we can sustain our current population..

65% of our food is imported

we have killed 70% of our pollinating insects

we are killing the ocean at an alarming speed, to the point it has already been warned that a fish/food shortage is just over the horizon

with rising sea levels accelerating our island is getting smaller..

Call me selfish but i frefered the country when I was younger and their were less people.. I can’t think of one good thing about the changes that have been made.. they have been done by the elites for the elites..

Cutting down trees and concreting over parks does not make my environment better and it never will no matter how more equal society becomes..

  15. 7 hours ago, winkie said:

Of course they do, they want to pay their own way in this world, earn a living that can support themselves and family........very many generations of people living in this country have become dependent on state charity, they do not have the skills to do a job that pays, many places no longer provide local jobs that pay......the biggest beneficiaries with the system we now have are the landlords, and low wage payers......what is the answer?;)

It’s simple.. every problem in wage/benefits is housing/rent cost..

    half the cost of housing

    half the cost of rent

You fix the problems we are seeing now..

It’s not beyond the realms of government to impliment policy to lower housing/rent cost..

    Land tax?

Rent control that is linked to average wage?

Build a shed load of council housing?

highly regulated/licencenced rental/holiday let property run locally by councils..? With law implemented by government?

£100’000 fines/posestion orders for beds in sheds/HMO’s that are dangerous.

STOP immigration.. it’s never been for our benefit, only the benefit of the elites to drive down living standards and wages..

    This is a bit unfair.

I describe BTLers as the effect rather than a cause....... like the pustules of a poor victim of the pox ..... the real cause is the virus that is the banking system who needed to inflate asset values to protect themselves against negative equity ....... it / is was a parasites dream.

Did you read the link on the 118 website! ?

They talk like they are our saviours, according to them we would all be living on the streets without their entrepreneurial genius!

They state... The government need to give us loads of tax cuts, without us no one would have a home.. ?

They now think they make houses.. they are so thick it’s painful to hand over money to people less intelligent..

i guess that’s why I make the money and they take it, their too stupid to earn it honestly..

118’ers reading this.. I don’t want to pay your mortgage, you are not the solution, you are the cancerous growth that blights the housing market.. You are the high house prices, you are the evil, the greed, the depravity, the homelessness, the reason going to work is pointless and the destruction of all that was good about owning a happy home..

PS.. it’s hot in hell.. although I have heard land prices are cheap so if you get there first you might be able to get good rent from a lava pit of fire.!

if anything a hybrid is way more complicated than a full electric..
