I'm not making assumptions, I just think it's terrible when people can't see a way out.
Again the assumption being
-
What a waste, whatever the problem he could have picked himself up at 41.
The assumption being?

I watched it.
KM also quipped on the cover of the Budget 2009 book that it said future, he asked "What future?"
Presenter asked him to apologise for the gun quip, indeed she nearly repeated it herself, big deal, against the law to joke now is it, he had nothing to apologise for.
I used to think walking away slowly was ok too

i totally agree. the politicians give the people what they want to get into power, and the public do the damage. then remove the government for another that the public will feel best suits their personal interests, rather than the nations as a whole.
unfairness is acceptable provided your on the good side of the ignorance.
its human nature. its not just this country.
Thats because our electoral system denies real democracy

It's incredible to watch
They are like some kind of crazed brainwashed cult
Staring into the distance
Obsessed by the preservation of their own reality

I was watching a piece on CBS News
He's not the only one is he?

It's nonsense like this that drags the standard of debate on here so low.
Really?
Ignorance is bliss they say
So enjoy it

Chief Financial Officer.
He was only in the job 5 or 6 months.
Makes you wonder
Doesn't it?

Normaly by this time I am watching the news reveiw on Sky Active but tonight its not on.
That's probably because of some of the comments made
Anna did apologize for them

Is it too late to STR?...
I mean pretty soon the whole country will realize we are screwed
Then nobody will want to buy

Glad you mentioned this
I watched it all
I usually find him quite irritating
But found myself agreeing with every word he said

Watching the news this evening and listening to the radio on the way into work I cannot help but see how the media are waking up to the financial mess we are in.
Badger has by coming clean on the debt mountain and gambling on fantasy land ideas that the economy is going to recover next year and then boom like it 1997 has caused at long last a shake up in the media from its sleep into the reality of what the country faces.
I expect to see the city baulk at todays mess and the fall out will come over the following days and weeks.
All not good for those green shoots of activity in the housing market
Yes
I felt that too
Seemed like a watershed moment
-
The situation as I understand it is this
And please correct me if I am wrong
The government can finance its debt from the sale of Gilts. As long as it continues to print money in order to buy its own Gilts
After that we are screwed
Meaning inflation up..interest rates up..unemployment up...a Sterling crisis
Closely followed by a visit to the IMF

And many business owners, entrepreneurs, surgeons, VCs etc.
How much do you think this gov makes out of the banking industry by the way?
Nothing
But here's the latest estimate of how much they will cost us

What does Labour actually stand for now?
For all the talk over "doing whatever it takes because it is the right thing to do", I genuinely have no idea what the "right thing" is - even in their own minds.
Can anyone on here who is intending to vote Labour at the next election tell me what they believe this party stands for, and why they intend to vote for them?
The only thing I think that they actually stand for is the desire to remain in power at all costs.
I suppose it was ever thus, and always will be the case with any government, I just don't think I can ever remember it being quite so blatant.
If I thought that they had one central objective that they genuinely believed in other than the desire for power, even if it was one I disagreed with, then I think I might not hate them quite as much as I do.
It wouldn't surprise me if they lost every single seat at the next election
-
They did it before and they are doing it again. I have lived all over the world and I love the UK. It is my home but why would someone pay 50% to live here when you can pay so much less to live in the sunshine.
People earning enough normally send their kids to private school and have private health care. Now they have to pay even more.
Watch the good people leave or dodge the top rate!
What like
Bankers,Politicians and TV presenters?

if all thats left are public buildings which thinking about things, it is. then things are pretty grim. im having trouble thinking of one previous government service thats not been privatised aside from the emergency serives and the nhs.
Oh dear.. the nhs!

Only G7 countries singled out for scrutiny in this bar chart then?
I'd like to see one that included the G20
And countries like Ireland

I wouldn't waste a moment of my time listening to any of his drivel

Nothing changes. Absolutely nothing. The same houses week in, week out, month in, month out. They've even stopped going under offer and quite a few have come back to the market.
I'm bored. When is something going to change?
Do you want the truth?
Or shall I humour you with platitudes?
I'll do both... then you can choose
scenario :
1) Chin up old chap...things will soon get better
2) 10 years

Simple really.

Exactly right
It doesn't matter
Because it's an artificial crisis created from artificial money
