Wads worth, jeebus, that's got to be made up

I got a letter a couple of weeks back from NSI stating that the prize fund for PB's has been doubled for 2010, which can only back up the OP's point, as prizes were slashed when interest rates plummeted...

Well my noise nuisance involves thin ceilings, and the bloke upstairs:
1) Has a squeaky bed meaning I wake up if he
(i) gets in (ii) gets out (iii) shags his missus
2) His missus makes a lot of noise when she's being done
3) Unfortunately she's a munter, which makes this worse
Advice please on how to address this delicate issue, we've got a good relationship so far so don't want to pi$$ him off!

(550k saved).
My wife is at the end of her tether (on anti-depressants)
Sorry, you lost me after that bit

This is a fantastic policy and if it came from BNP then good for them.
We have an underclass of little sluts knocking out kids nobody pays for.
All this benefit and prison lark. If life was worse than normal peoples nobody would want to be on the dole or in the nick.
Good on GB.
Hear, hear.

Off topic

Also this guy said that they (courts presumably) are heavily in favour of the tenant & that they 'hate landlords' quite right too I piped up at that juncture.
He added though that he now knows how to squat effectively because of this. The day before a non-paying tenant is due in court - tenant pays up a weeks rent. Landlord then has to go through process again taking another 3 months.. and so on
Not that I agree with such behaviour you understand
-
New contractor at work is constantly on the phone trying to sort out landlords woes - tenant moved in 3 weeks ago, made no moves to get their benefits sorted out in order to pay the rent & he's now learned legally he may be stuck with this tenant for up to a year.
Now, wheres my micro violin..

So Badger what can Mr and Mrs 20K buy with their cash? And do you know what type of mortgage they are getting? Do you have any idea where they think interest rates are going?
Nope, don't like to stick my nose in too much as am likely to get bearish at their sensitive and difficult time.
-
Well I'm sitting here listening to one colleague on the phone to his missus, looking for somewhere to put down their hard-saved 20k deposit, another in her mid twenties buying a place in a craphole on the south coast 'we can get a mortgage, it's just a question of which one we choose', and yet another saying 'it's a good time to buy'
Somethings spooked the herd into looking at buying at the moment, so some of those EA's may yet have a job.

Oh this has to be a joke!! Project Tulip...!
"Details of Project Tulip - the name given to the closure plan"
Those bankers know a good joke don't they? Tulip Bubble... ha
That's what I thought! how apt indeed

I am seeing something close to collapse in the Advertizing, PR and media world. It's a total nightmare.
What are you seeing exactly G?
I work at an ad agency - was 60 strong until this year when 50% went in 2 rounds of redundancies. I escaped twice & next time it'll be the place folding as there's only one of each of us now (on the creative side). We're almost becoming more of a production house than creative agency for some of our clients as they're wanting to cut costs.. pitching like mad for everything we can.. fingers x'd!
-
But then many like me, will also still be employed and 100% debt free. And shopping.
-
Definitely should be the landlords responsibility to fix this. It's in his interest anyway as the property will become damaged.
I once had a tennant call to tell me a lightbulb was not working. I asked him if he'd tried replacing it with a new one and he said no - duh!!
We've done tons to this place, painted inside & out & never bother them if we can at all help it. But I have to draw the line sometimes.
-
Gutter leaks outside our front door, form the 1st floor eaves, which is around 20ft or so up at a guess.
Just wondered what the legal position is on this kind of thing when the landlord asks if I've 'got a ladder' or if he gets one 'what am I like with heights?'
I told him I was going away anyhoo. He is about 80-odd, the old buzzard, but still, I aint going up that high to save him a bob or two..

..and also from Sky news story of Economy shrinking more than expected:
2nd comment down:
'This news will come as a shock to many I'm sure, who've been led up the garden path lately with reports of a recovery and "green shoots". No amount of ramping will cover for the fact that this country is in a very deep recession. Recovery is a long way off.
The good news? House prices will continue to fall and become AFFORDABLE. So its not all gloom and doom.

I remember paying £60 a game for the N64, that must have been 10 years ago!
I sweated blood completing Goldeneye on the N64 on the hardest setting 007 I think it was. Plus the hours of stoned & beered hilarity my mate & I spent playing that 2 player, we knew every level intimately, superb fun.

FPS are made for KB and mouse.
Presumably the reason being you can spin round 180 deg v quickly. Like when you increase the sensitivity on your pad
-
Huge price but probably represents good value ultimately. This series only started getting good with COD4, COD5 not being quite as good but the WW2 setting more than made up for it IMO.
