‘Dire’ outcomes of a Brexit vote

House prices could crash by 25pc and the pound drop by a third if the UK leaves the EU, according to Fitch, which warned that social tensions risked boiling over even if Britain stays in the bloc. and then right at the end "Economists at ING also calculated that a Brexit would deal an economic blow to the eurozone."

  • House prices will drop regardless of the referendum result. The prices are already beyond what most people can afford and the few who can afford to buy, don’t particularly want to buy them. Entry level 2 bed houses are crap and aren’t worth the money, sure, there are nice 2 beds for an extra 50%, but not good value. My other half and I earn over 100k/year, we can afford to get a 450k mortgage as we have saved up a fairly large deposit, but we don’t want to spend our hard earned money on a crap converted maisonette! None of the properties to the west of London around that price are worth even half that amount! We’re better off saving for a few more years then buying outright in almost any other part of the country and being happy on lower salaries but without rent/mortgage to pay.
