Out of control immigration ensures UK house price bull market for at least another decade

Market Oracle: ONS UK Population Immigration Panic, Forecast 10 Million Increase

Recent ONS population data suggests that the UK population could increase by an additional 4 million by 2030 as a consequence of what amounts to continuing out of control immigration and high birth rate that in total would translate into a population increase equivalent to 15 cities the size of Birmingham. The bottom line is that out of control immigration ensures that the likes of the UK house prices bull market looks set to continue for at least another decade!

libertas @ 11:10 PM I'm afraid you wouldn't last long before being struck off in the regulated financial advice sector using wording such as "ensures"

Out of control immigration has the potential to drive a UK house price bull market for at least another decade would however be acceptable

UK Plc needs to start building nursing homes as well as houses

I'll take your house price predictions with a pinch of salt based on your previous "Gold & Silver to the Moon" ramping in the not too distant past.

But not necessarily a bull market as exuberant at the current one. The current bull market has been fueled by expectation prices will rise and migrants are not necessarily property speculators.

The bottom line is that Libertas's predictions will always be in line with his self interest.

My gold predictions remain, but the timetable is out. I did not quite understand the long wave of the gold cycle. I think it will hit 20k before I pass away, but could be in a bear market for 10 to 20 years now.

As they say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

"By mid-2039, more than 1 in 12 of the population is projected to be aged 80 or over."
Without immigration, this number would be a LOT higher, and the burden placed on the smaller working age population would be enormous. Sort of caught between a rock and a hard place. Unfortunately, the over 80s are very unlikely to take some of the hit through lower pensions, selling their houses before getting the taxpayer to fund their care home, etc so what will happen is the working age population will have more and more of their private property confiscated - as indeed is already happening.

Policies to make it easier to have children would also solve it. Presently, childcare is expensive, child benefits are paltry, and high levels of immigration mean that it is bloody difficult to find family sized homes that are affordable. As a result, there is almost genocide of the domestic population as birth rates collapse. Also, this generation has been attacked with incessant green propaganda about overpopulation and how children are bad for the environment, and that global warming means no future. Disgraceful behaviour.

@6 Yes I always find it perplexing that anti-immigrant folk are often and anti-natalist as well. No immigrants and abolition of maternity leave, restricting access to resources depending on how many siblings you have, etc. Who exactly is going to run the country when everyone is old and no one has had kids?

I was horrified to see Cameron restrict child benefits for two children only, as if the third child is always planned, as if it is wrong, and as if a third child should suffer financially for the "crime" of being born? Stunk of Communist, United Nations, Agenda 21, 2 child policy.

When a Conservative is proven to be a Fabian Socialist? (Wolf in sheep's clothing).

@6 - In what way is that disgraceful behaviour? On balance, the current human population IS very bad for the environment and further increases worsen that situation. Yes, there are huge areas of agricultural land and green belt in Britain, but that's all split up into tiny areas with busy roads and railways and the more populated the towns and cities, the more pressure there is to build more of those.

I despise the overpricing of land and houses as much as most of the others on this site, but building more forever isn't the best long term solution for the environment nor for people's quality of life.

@7 A smaller world population and smaller government would mean much greater amounts of land and natural resources to go around. This means that, with the right economy, land could be much cheaper. There'd be a painful adjustment period due to the enormous debt governments have run up. They depend on taxing a growing population to fund it. In the very long term though, a smaller population means lower costs as well as lower revenue.

Libby @ 9, Phuleeze, the souther middle class! How gratifying it is to see that taxing me to pay you for choosing a three child lifestyle (however you want to portray it they ain't my future mate!) is just fine and dandy in the libertarian free market world. It's the twenty first century, ffs! ALL kids are planned unless:-
(a)you are amongst the select few extreme God botherers (who, as I understand it, regard contraception as witchcraft but sex as sinful too, so shouldn't really be doing it anyway)
(b)both you and your partner happen to simultaneously suffer from very early onset dementia at adolescence or
(c) are an unsuccessfully recovering from a nasty substance/booze habit (and even then Clock not didn't impregnate anyone he not like a lot, who make me get act together before making small Slingers)
