OK so this would in theory be bad for me as a homeowner (mortgage slave) but what about renters? Rents would not increase a penny, in fact might go down slightly as owner occupiers might rent out a room or move to somewhere that is more appropriate for their income. There are lots of renters who have savings so they would benefit. Sounds like a big win for London where the majority of people rent...
Unfortunately today's election result means 5 more years of turbo-homeownerism followed by someone really extreme on the left being voted in in 2020 IMHO
