Huddesfield Examiner: Huddersfield is a property hotspot - but house prices still at 2007 levels

Huddersfield has become one of the UK’s top property hotspots with prices recovering to 2007 levels. Meanwhile two areas of London (Nine Elms and the City of Westminster) are property cold spots.

Never thought I'd see a ramping story about Huddersfield, where sold prices haven't moved for the last 5 years. Perhaps houses in very specific sought-after locations have recovered to 2007 levels, but Kirklees as a whole is still down 10-15% according to LR.

Mixed messages? The property hotspots are in the north, the hottest property spots are in the south. What could be clearer than that?

doomy - they say 'luv' a lot, but not the other stuff - but I have to agree with your 'whodathunkit' implication.
