The higher SDLT threshold of 3% forced some 19,600 sellers to lower their asking prices in 2012 - and stopped some 9,700 from selling altogether.

  • Clearly this has nothing to do with asking for ridiculously high prices in the first place. Nothing whatsoever. Perish the thought. Never crossed my mind.
