Total property debt of British households stands at £848bn

StepChange's director of external affairs, Delroy Corinaldi, said: "These findings show that debt is not purely a financial burden, but potentially a psychological burden that can have profound effects on people's mental wellbeing."

  • People are up to their necks in debt. They are trapped and want to escape.

    I reckon this state of mind reduces the impact of concience. Take Primark for example – where are the people demanding better conditions in the sweat shop factories?…they can’t be bothered as this would increase the cost of their new “skimpy top” by 30p.

    Is anyone in the UK really bothered by 300 or 500 people living in slave labour or dying to produce their next skirt?
