Nice bit of free advertising

'Buy our bungalow and we'll give you 10,000 chances to win the lottery!'

or they could have just dropped the price by £10,000

  • Classic.

Nobody seems to quite understand what he is doing in the comments though. Yeah, sure, he’s after the publicity, but it’s also not a great deal.

He’s only offering the 125k IF he wins, so its not like he’s using the money to buy the buyer 10k lottery tickets. He’s using the money to buy himself 10k lottery tickets and promising to give the money back up to the value of the house sale IF he wins.

He’s not appealing to everyone’s desire to win the lottery but trying to satisfy his own.

Anyways, I thought the odds of winning were 1 in 13.8 mil, and 10000 in 13.8 mil is about 1 in 1380 no?

You would think they would find a student who knew how to carry a zero…

  • You couldn’t make that story up!

    Leasehold bungalow for £125k anyone?
The funny thing is that it is free money for the 4 grandchildren ‘trying’ to sell it, wtf are they being so greedy? Alan Hodgkinson clearly looks like a BOOMER so that must be the reason – He is worth it.

  • Duncan Stott says:

It’s the first £125,000 of any winnings, so you don’t need to win the jackpot to see all your money back. Five numbers plus the bonus ball would usually get you most of the money back.

If I were the buyer I’d insist he bought Thunderball or Lotto+5 tickets. Too much of the main Lotto prize money goes into the 6 ball jackpot, most of which you’ll never see if your numbers come up.

  • What a wonderful article; just so much to quote. So here’s mine, delusional:

“It’s just a matter of time before a buyer with matching needs comes along and, in the meantime, the lease allows for the property to be let.

    “It’s a win-win situation.”

  • Hi nice blog, thanks, Has anyone used any free advertising sites, I have come across a few on the internet, one allows you to submit your website and boost it back to number 1. I posted it in http://www.boostasite.com , has anyone used this site since it allows free advertising for authors?
