Osborne's growth plan: Over to the Bank

"If the runes are being read correctly, the next big push for growth will come not in the Budget later this month, but on July 1 — the day Mark Carney starts at the Bank of England". (or...the latest moves for keeping house prices high).

    Not so fast on the conclusion. Carney will create carneyge (copyrighted!) with £. Main reason for foreigners buying in UK was to preserve value of wealth. Er…

  • Let’s face it, Osborne doesn’t know what he’s doing. He should have stuck to refolding towels at Selfridges which, according to him, he was quite good at that.

    SK, I suspect that Osborne knows exactly what he is doing, it is a smash and grab raid on the country, of course it won’t “work” but why would he care? Does a burglar care about the wreckage he leaves behind?

  • MW: You may be right. For the moment, however, I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt – it’s lack of imagination and intellect that’s the problem not a conspiracy. However, having said that and in favour of your point, he’s probably easy to manipulate, stupid people are, so maybe he’s just doing to bidding of those he’s prepared to listen to, the banksters and other vested interests who’ve bought the ear of Cameron and the rest of the Tory party with their donations.
