What price a greater Europe?

Heartstopping moment would-be assassin aims gun at Bulgarian opposition leader's head and pulls the trigger... but victim survives after weapon misfires

A man jumped on stage and pointed a gun at the leader of Bulgaria's ethnic Turkish party before security guards wrestled him to the ground during a televised conference on Saturday. Ahmed Dogan, the long-time leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) escaped unscathed, and it was not immediately clear why the attacker had targeted him at the party congress in downtown Sofia.

  • The point is that when parts of Eastern Europe become unstable in the future, there will be millions of refugees heading towards western Europe, quite legally. UK government has chosen cheap labor, low wages and high house prices.

  • The gun was a gas pistol. Two of the ammo were blanks, the third one – red pepper for protection from animals. The pistol itself was not in state to release a shot, no cartridge. Police itself stated it could not do any substantial harm even if a shot was produced. The person was a former boxer so could take some beating but most notably he is of turkish minority origin (there is a part of the population in Bulgaria that has turkish names, practice islam. remnants from when Bulgaria was occupied by Ottoman empire. Some of these people were ordinary bulgarians forcefully converted to islam). Was that an exercise to fool the society and the world? There is a lot of mockery of the incident in the Bulgarian social media where most people do not believe this to be genuine attempt but a lousily choreographed scenario. The “turkish” party itself is seen as having declining electorate in the past years and as elections are fast approaching an event as this would make an attempt to unite the members…may be. go to dnevno “dot” bg “slash” go “slash” 2369 and see some cartoons on the event. Second from top states “Come closer, mate. You are not in the shot (camera)”. The twin Oscar one is for best actor and best scenario, the last one states: “Gun without cartridge for brainless electorate”.
