Not even the least bit daft.

Why aren't propeties selling

What’s going on in the property market? I've had my house in Dorset (pictured) on the market since the beginning of May, and in spite of around 10 viewings, mostly in May and June, nobody has made even a ‘daft’ offer of, say, 10% below the asking price.

  • Author lorna has always been so pro-property its unreal. However, this shows how naive she is. If no one is offering even 10% under the asking price it is more than 10% overpriced. You don’t have to be a genius.

  • Too cheap? Asking price is a secret so who knows? Chocolate box properties should have stratosperic prices.

  • Asking price is £650k, recently amended to a “guide price”. Houses like that are selling around the £450k mark. In the comments section, bankside correctly identified the price she paid as £340k in 2002 but she was seen coming! It also looks like the house is in Wiltshire not Dorset!
