Housing Minister Grant Shapps has been accused of using spin and misleading figures to hide his failure to build homes and tackle homelessness.

I should qualify that as Minister of Housing Scarcity, Shapps has undoubtedly made an admirable contribution – following adroitly in the footsteps of many predecessors. Unfortunately, this is no longer in Britain’s economic (nevermind social) interest. As such, the political establishment might do well to abolish this portfolio and replace it with a Ministry for Housing.
Just a thought.
