  • Pointless. The fact that the total property value of the greater Reading area is marginally higher than the total property value of Edinburgh doesn’t tell us anything useful. This data has no practical value whatsoever.

  • “some strange anomalies” starting with the population stats – the numbers for Newcastle, Sunderland and M’Boro look way overstated to me !

If only there was a way that the county as a whole could benefit from Reading’s success in inflating property values…

CB, do you mean or other Mark?

All this data is of course ultimately based on HMLR figures and will be most useful once I’m in charge of running the tax system.

It’s funny how some Homey’s argue “It’s impossible to have LVT because there is no data on land values” while at the same time burbling on about how much their ‘house’ has gone up in value since they bought it to the nearest penny.

MW, I thought it was obviously aimed at you because of the reason that you put forward. it couldn’t be the other Mark because it is not about the North West/North Wales or the USA so he won’t know anything about it 🙂

  • What (if anything) underpins the supposed valuation of this nation’s decrepit housing stock – according to this survey?
