House prices ‘green shoots of recovery’ as mortgage demand jumps by 25pc
House prices are still falling, expressed in terms of national averages, but signs of recovery in the housing market include a 25pc increase in mortgage applications over the last year while asking prices increased by more than they have done in a decade.

Of course, asking isn’t quite the same thing as getting. You can ask whatever you like but unrealistic house prices set by vendors are likely to be ignored by buyers.
Asking prices being ignored as well as house price indexes.
