Council tenants in North Wales face 5% hike in rent
INFLATION busting rent rises for council housing are set to hit thousands of tenants – some facing a £250-a-year hike. Councils are threatening 5% increases, despite the dire economic outlook and UK Government plans to slash welfare payments.

Seems fair enough. If there are people on the waiting list, then either the rent is too low or there’s not enough social housing. If they up the rents, they’ll be able to build more, win win all round.

No keep the rent the same or cut it, sack jobsworths, cut senior managers pensions, waste and other nonsense and still build more houses.

So it’s not inflation-busting at all. That’s perfectly in line with inflation.
