Architecturally intriguing, looks like it has been converted from some sort of WW2 era flat roofed utility type building, interesting recessed section in the front elevation brickwork that would hint at some sort of full height glazing or other feature. Certainly OK inside, probably has a concrete roof, if you want an eccentric building with reasonable sized rooms for a snip and don’t mind the area – go for it.

Art Deco? I thought it might contain a disabled lift.

Looks just as weird on the Google maps street view:

This is a good argument for needing planning permission. People should not be allowed to add ugly chunks to their houses. 😉

Art Dicko, more like.
Horrible area.

Last sold 2001 for £56500, bizarrely has a name ‘Lea Hurst’. Bored so checked out the 1:25K OS of the area and its right next to the former railway line adjacent the former Shirebrook Colliery. Central close to the side of the building is built atop the old mineral line to the colliery so best guess is that it was associated with the Colliery and its Sidings and may have had a water tank where the 4th bedroom presumably is.
This is not healthy – goodnight.

Mmm, flat roof. Just as well Derbyshire is well known for it’s unusually low annual precipitation.

looks like a bad copy of the building in india (can’t remember name of it now)
mark says:
this is the ugly one in india somewhat more expensive though

“no onward chain” – is that because there’s nobody living there (curtains closed in the middle of the day, probably the EA’s car in the ‘off-road parking’ slot)?

Has anyone on HPC ever been to Mansfield?
It gives Stoke on Trent and Kilmarnock a run for their money in the “Cr*p Towns” league ratings.

I heard a rumour that housing was cheap in that area. The rumour was incorrect when comparing wages to house prices in that area.
