Fears as youth employment reaches “crisis levelsâ€
YOUTH unemployment has reached crisis levels, the government was warned yesterday after new figures showed the jobless count leapt by 70% in the Merseyside area in just nine months.

I thought there had been a huge drive to get people off sickness benefits in Liverpool. Are the newly well swelling the ranks of the unemployed?
The figures given are for January and September. Won’t the higher September figure include people who have just left school/college/university and not had time to find a job yet?
