British Gas customers will pay an extra Â£200 a year after the energy giant became the latest to raise its energy prices. British Gas is putting its prices up by an average of 18pc or Â£121 for gas and 16pc or Â£71 for electricity from August 18. It means that the average household bill for a dual fuel British Gas customer will now go up from Â£1,096 to Â£1,288 an increase of Â£192 or 17.5pc.
