This is Option 3 as suggested by ? recently – the best strategy for selling newspapers is to alternate between “Prices soaring” and “Prices plummeting”.

  • You can’t fly without soaring and plummeting MW.

Just as house prices can’t go too near to that hot place without relentless thrashing then ultimately crashing.

    Are you waxed out?

  • mark w – option 3 – alternating between house prices soaring/surging and plummetting/nosediving – was my suggestion only a couple of days ago, when the Mail told us there was a “BTL bonanza” fuelled by “rising rents, cheaper mortgage deals and (wait for it) POSITIVE HOUSE PRICE FORECASTS”

  • Also may I recommend spell check grammar software to the DM:
“The prospect of house price falls is a worry for millions of people whose property is their biggest financial investments.”

So, DM, property an investment, is it?
