Cable tell it how it is

Question Time

In the last question Cable sets out the economic reality. This includes his opinions about the price of property. A very interesting listen. Eddie Mair presents a discussion about politics and news from Saffron Walden Town Hall in Essex with Business Secretary, Vince Cable; Shadow Business minister, Chuka Umunna; novelist and screenwriter, Anthony Horowitz; and LBC broadcaster Julia Hartley-Brewer.

What troubles me about Vince Cable’s position – now that he is in govt – is he goes along with deficit reduction funded in effect by all taxpayers, ie. predominantly by moderate earners, while the culprits, the banks and financiers, pretty much get away with it. Although Cable does want to do something with the banks, it looks more and more likely that little will happen.

  • Cable gets kibbled.

Is there a good man or women left in the house who’s done with playing and is willing to lay all of their cards down and call a spade a

    spade?

I know, but he didn’t get elected. Such is normality in this insane world some of us have to contend with.

  • Be careful what you say about Saint Vincent on here NP, I’ve had plenty of abuse for expressing the same view as yours before Cable got into the cabinet.

  • Listen to Mr Cables voice. It is invibed with the sense of the academic wingeing neighbour, who has zero authority or sway in the

community. We need to unleash a pitbull to get bums off seats and moving in the correct directon.

BEWARE OF THE DOG, KEEP OUT! Beware of Vince doesn’t have quiet the same impact.

  • Mr G,

As I’ve observed before, St Vince is turning into Victor Meldrew…

Come to that, NP, what does any politician achieve (for the improvement of society)? At least Cables words are sound, rather than the typical flannel. Enjoyed the Zappa video btw.

Not sure you get much abuse here. You strike me as quite reactionary in your political statements, and sometimes you are responded to for that – but that is true for all but the most anodyne here.
