Bank Chief says inflation will fall back to target on the 14th of August 2018
UK inflation will fall back to target, says Bank chief
The UK's inflation rate will fall back to its target rate, but the timing of this fall is uncertain, the Bank of England governor Mervyn King has said. As the timing is not specified and rather open ended I have taken the liberty of setting a date.

“UBS said commodity price inflation over the past few months would justify a 3-3.5% increase in processed food prices, but it found that supermarkets had increased prices by 6-6.5%.

Actually according to an economist that I follow Mervyn also said this in his evidence to the Treasury Select Committee yesterday.
“The projections that we published in the inflation report a couple of weeks ago have the characteristic that the inflationary pressures are pretty much back to target by around the middle of this year.”
Fortunately he goes onto explain the flaws in the Governor’s thinking….
