BBC joins smear campaign against Assange and Wikileaks

Not directly related to HPC but (a) it does say a lot about the the forces distorting what we glean from the media - a recurring theme on this site and (b) it's topical and is worth reading as background for those watching tonight's Panorama. The links in the paragraph above the photograph of Sweeney, especially the "redacting" and "arbitrary use" ones, are particularly interesting. Will Sweeney do a hatchet job on Assange? Why?

Nothing to do with HPC but a bloody good article, never trusted the BBC after I read John Snow’s autobiography and found out most of their news editors are receiving tax free second salaries from our Secret Services.

I myself shall be enjoying dinner with Julian Assange on Wednesday – any HPCers are welcome to join me…

I bet there is a very good chance that John Sweeney is on the parole of MI6

  • The Express continually ramps house prices. The BBC has been mentioned before on this site. There are big political forces at work all the time! Why do you think Halifax timed their monthly press releases to the MPC decisions in recent months?

People get away with manipulation until one day, they don’t! Have a word with those camping out in Tahrir Sq. They are determined to change 30 years of Mubarak (I wonder if Obama has fixed the house in Las Vagas yet).

  • Now, now lads.

As I have been so rightly informed, there are no such things as conspiracies, go back to sleep, you may hurt your little brains.

From an ex BBC man, no less. Room 101?
