Yeh shameless is pretty apt, great TV show, is it a documentary?

'Shameless Britain' lacks embarrassment about debt

Britain has become a shameless nation where a third of adults are not embarrassed to discuss their debt, new research suggests. It is a far cry from an older generation of Britons who would only buy goods and services from their earnings or savings.

    It could be argued that this change in sentiment may well be a good thing (not so the sanguine attitude towards bankruptcy but transparency about debt levels); perhaps this will see and end to the ‘keeping up with the Jones’?

    Having had someone proudly tell me about their Son getting an Interest Only mortgage (as if it made him cleverer than the mugs who go for repayment) I suspect the opposite. Nowadays not having a load of loans is probably comparable to not having an internet connection.
