Fire chiefs spend £82k on hotel course to train managers about cost-cutting
Today, the Fire Brigades Union condemned the use of a hotel – 12 miles from a force training centre in Ancoats – as ‘appalling’. A brigade source said: “I find it despicable that the fire service are willing to pay £100 a night for these managers who all benefit from £40,000-plus-a-year salaries.â€

You really think that hosting a conference/meeting for 197 people over several days that costs £82k is ” a lot ” of money.
Personally I would have to agree with the FB on this on not the FB Union.
All large businesses/organizations have conferences and meetings. Had it been a conference to vote in favour of a large payrise to all FBU members do you think they would have complained quite so much. Of course not – sour grapes that is all it is.
Maybe all the unions in this country would like to produce receipts for their expense arrangements when going to meetings/conferences.
No?? i thought not.

It’s 82k of tax payers money that shouldn’t have been wasted. It’s sick that private industry struggles when this sort of public waste is going on. There are plenty of private companies who can not afford a Christmas party this year. That’s how bad it’s getting.
