I know this has been done to death although it's still pleasing to see the lunacy of LHA laid bare in print: "’s certainly demonstrable that private landlords...have enjoyed setting rents on the basis of a seemingly limitless flow of public cash."

  • The ‘final solution’, (when applied to greedy taxpayer funded BTL landlords), has no unsavoury connotations for me. Let the cleansing commence!

  • A very thoughtful article. The last paragraph raises a point that could explain why Boris, if you believe he is so smart, is against the cuts: Housing benefit in London is in the final analysis a subsidy from the taxpayer to business, and furthermore it is a subsidy from the rest of the UK to London business and London residents.
