Higher supply, lower demand equals….

Sellers return to housing market

Estate agents said house sellers are returning to the market in a way not seen since May 2007, just before the property market crashed. .....the RICS survey suggested that 21 per cent more estate agents were seeing a growth in the number of house sellers than a fall in numbers. This is the highest figure since May 2007, just before the 13-year-long house price bubble burst.

  • Thar she blows!

Fear propelled the market upwards and fear will again lead to its meteoric trajectory eastwards.

  • Get out while you can is it? …. Too late I`m afraid – whchever way you look at it the inevitable is coming. 180 houses have gone the market in the last 24 hours according to my local search of findaproperty.com ..says it all.

I have seen a number of houses go under offer under their 2004/5 prices in the last few weeks – a few houses in the £700-£900k bracket have also gone SSTC, but two have gone back on the market; the rest of the market is just stagnant. I wonder how many sellers would want to be stuck with the 2005-2007 priced property when SVR’s get to 5 or 6% … they may think their property hasn`t lost much owing to local asking prices, but the fact they haven`t sold at that pricxe is the alarm bell ringing!! When it comes to remortgage I can assure the bank will have its own valuation and that will be a shock as my mate just found out moving from his tracker to a fix – paid £500k in 2006, bank just valued at £400k!! Rate difference of 1.2% based upon his current level of equity ..I wonder how many others will be in this boat –

What’s this? Similar bearish article in the Mail. The usual crew, i.e. the ‘ there is no such thing as bad news for the property market ‘ merchants must be on an extended holiday.
