More scorched earth?

Mail: Copenhagen climate change summit: Brown pledges £1.5billion towards EU fund to tackle global warming

'Gordon Brown has pledged at least £1.5 billion of public money towards an EU fund to combat global warming, he confirmed today.
Despite the UK’s staggering levels of national debt, the money will form part of a £10billion European fund to fast track efforts to help poorer nations tackle climate change. Mr Brown said Europe was ready to promise firm action next week at the climate change talks in Copenhagen.'

Brown is like a lottery winning teenager receiving his first cheque book! He'd be better of spending the money on UK green schemes, at least there would be some control over what it's spent on! Or is he just trying to screw the tories even more?

As the Red Army approached Berlin and the Anglo-Americans reached the Elbe, on 19 March 1945 Hitler ordered the destruction of what remained of German industry, communications and transport systems. He was resolved that, if he did not survive, Germany too should be destroyed.

May I commend you for this post, but unfortunately you are too far ahead of time. The news will surely be drip fed over an appropriate period of time and in the most palatable way. Posts on this far reaching subject will be burning in future methinks. : (
