No such thing as a free lunch (for most people)

What the coin basically means is that your retirement will last the eight seconds it takes for you to collapse at your work station, fall to the floor and die and up until that point you'll be taxed every time you say the word 'a'.

  • taxes will rise or currency will devalue.

I have gold and an FX account shorting the GBP to cover myself from the latter possibility. That leaves the former, and if people are taxed more, what does that do for affordability – that marvellous excuse for why house prices should rise?

Classic Mash! Right on the money too. Whatever Crash Gordon does he’s just dragging us deeper into the mire, in the vain hope he can put the brakes on enough to squeeze back into power come election time. There is no way out, the UK has to take the pain and putting it off just means more pain further down the road, goodbye Great Britain. We have two choices now, which do you prefer? Rampant inflation or a living tax hell for the next three decades?

With regards to how bad things are getting, some anecdotal evidence. My dad told me he was in Marlow the other day, one of the most affluent towns in the UK. Apparently the high street was lined with empty shops. Says it all.

Oh, and as for Gordo’s G20 announcement on forthcoming IMF gold sales, what a blatant attempt by the G20 to manipulate the gold price lower to try to protect the rapidly devaluing fiat mess they’re making. It won’t work in the long run.

    Gordon or Gold?
