Gallows Humour?

Budget 2009: Darling's £700bn Debt Hike

I hear a new phrase " you can grow your way out of a recession, not cut your way out". Nicely said, but who is going to lend us £700bn? Look out for articles on black holes tomorrow, and of course recovery in the Guardian and the BBC.

  • “you can grow your way out of a recession, not cut your way out”

Because that worked really well for previous Labour governments with budget difficulties. Right?

  • I have deliberately cut myself off from all the Budget Bull being used to polish the new labour created turd ecoonomy and have just now settled down to digest the dirt. In recent years I have come to the conclusion that the current incumbent at No10 runs the UK like a self styled mafia godafather for the benefit of himself, his inflated ego and that of his immediate (political) family and not for the benefit of the hardworking residents of his thiefdom.

Party politics has ruined this country and it would be better run if we all had the sense when we vote to never let them have two consecutive bites at the cherry in order to prevent the sort of grand scale damage we are now being expected to pay to fix.
