Obama takes off his Paulson mask!

Obama denounces stimulus hold-up

US President Barack Obama has said the Senate's delay in passing his $900bn (£616bn) economic stimulus package is "inexcusable and irresponsible". He described the economic situation as "an urgent and growing crisis", which could become "a catastrophe" if the Senate failed to act. The bill includes measures to cut taxes and invest in job creation. Moderate Democrat and Republican senators have argued that the plan should be trimmed by up to $90bn.

  • And I thought ‘stimulus hold-up’ was a little blue pill , f-na, f-na….

Did Obama seriously think that the democratic process (yes the US does have one apparantly – hard to tell since they had a trained talking monkey in the white house for 8 years!) was going to just say ‘yes’ to a man who has simply never run anything than a clever turn of phrase….

Oh, well the honeymoon period nearly lasted a whole 3 weeks !

I know that you don’t think that this is just political nonsense and that the bill will be passed and more and more and more……

I think that th american system with a ‘remote’ president, with the Senate removed from the legislative process, expecting to rubber stamp every president’s ‘big ideas’ is a something to behold.
