    This ‘money’, and further amounts will not save the US motor industry in its present form. It will only save it from total collapse in the short term, allow them to downsize, buy off the unions and politicians with redundancy and pension guarantees, pay lobbyists, and maybe there will enough left over to launch smaller cheaper cars…but I doubt it. The next worry is the supply chain……guess they will be screwed!

  • They cant afford to buy off the Unions or the price of redunancies. That is the crux of the problem. Downsizing is not an option. What option does that leave but bankruptcy?
