Buyers tempted back into the property market as house prices continue to fall and mortgage lending b
One estate agent from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, said: 'Bargain hunters are in the market making cheeky bids.' Another estate agent, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, said: 'November was our best month of the year for new sales so perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel is still glowing.' Another agent said that 'realistically priced property' is attracting interest. He said 'realistic' means '20 per cent less than last year.'

As usual, the reader’s comments at the bottom of the article give a much more realistic view of things! Don’t think anyon’e being taken in by this sort of story any more.

the readers comments tell the story. only a year ago people on here were getting their bumps felt (virtually) for talking of 50% drops.. now it’s being repeated as a mantra by daily mail readers…. it’s sinking in. if (big if) we can keep our savings intact we are going to be having the last laugh in our big paid-for-in-cash houses.

There is some truth in these comments but it is not at a 20% discount from last year: more like a 40% discount! I have looked at several properties over the last couple of weeks and they have sold!
