Postman Pat owner axes jobs
POSTMAN Pat owner Entertainment Rights is cutting a third of its workforce after revealing the collapse of Woolworths has left it around £800,000 out of pocket. The kids' TV programme company, which also owns rights to Basil Brush and Rupert Bear, said Christmas sales were likely to be lower than expected and is cutting 50 of its 150 staff by the end of the year under plans to save £5m.

Moreover, Woollies is/was an outlet for 100s of businesses who will all feel the effect of the Woollies crisis. You might say that it has given them the willies. Redundancies will happen in many of those companies because of Woollies, surely. Then those people will not be spending so much and then other businesses will feel the recession more and possibly close. I know that you know that but it is important to say it.
I do wish that this site had categories for stories though – then this story could go in the ‘job losses’ section and be there for anyone who wants to read it.
