Anthea Turner: We may lose our mansion
Anthea Turner: We may lose our mansion
FORMER TV golden girl Anthea Turner last night sobbed as she revealed she’s lost an astonishing £100 MILLION in the credit crunch. The Perfect Housewife presenter told how her husband Grant Bovey’s buy-to-let empire had collapsed, and wept: “Our backs are against the wall—we may even lose our mansion.”

“We have had to re-evaluate our lives. I don’t think a £5 million mansion makes you happy,” said Anthea.
Well if she really has learnt that then it is £100 million well spent!

Well well that didn’t take long from last years cancelled ball, but everything’s fine and I’ll sue anyone who disagrees to nothing (much).
Just one thing Grant – what were you going to sue with ?
Perhaps they could become tenants and see how it feels.

The Banks owned the businesses, and they will have a call on their other assets in the European Union. Lost the lot, I think.

How ironic. ‘The perfect housewife’ didn’t clean up.

A bitter irony indeed. It’s a shame the News of the World didn’t point out the fact that Grant said he would sue anyone who cast aspersions on the viability of Imagine Homes, Imagine Furnishings and whatever the other company was called (“Imagine Profit”?).
Next time, be nice to people on your way up because you’ll meet them on your way back down, love.

I can’t wait to meet Anthea in our local Coop doing her weekly shop and getting her scratch cards like the rest of us. I wonder how many other bankrupt celebritys I’ll be meeting on my daily travels in the future.

Actually they did – “The couple’s lavish world lost its glitter this summer when property prices plummetted and banks cut loans. Yet rather than accept the crisis engulfing his businesses Bovey threatened to sue anyone who dared suggest he could be in trouble, insisting: “We have huge profits yet to materialise.” They didn’t.”
I think this is another case of people who think they are exceptionally talented business people because they’re in a climate where making money is reasonably easy. An asute businessman would have been out of property at least 12 months ago.

This reminds me, I have not seen anything about Fergus and Judeth recently, not since they started (were forced?) to sell up. They seem to be keeping out of the news. Something to look forward to in the new year perhaps?

Oh noes, a life without a mansion, my heart bleeds…

If they want to sue anyone, how about their “Financial Advisor”, bet he has made a killing out of them. With interest rates hitting rock bottom, now is the time to get paying off all those massive debts, ASAP, before rates sky rocket again. Good old Gordo’ is bound to direct that they should rise to combat inflation (real or imaginary statistics), just in time for the budget, so that it takes the spotlight away from his incompetence.

A quick call to Phil & Kirsty problem solved (they do it all the time on TV believe me)

Brings to mind the old saying about a fool and their money being soon parted.
