We will be able to retrain as loft insulators

Unemployment 'set to spiral'

The Government has been warned that unemployment could spiral to 3 million after the biggest jobless rise since 1991 left 1.79 million people looking for work. However, Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated that unemployment was higher in America, Germany, France and Italy than in Britain. Mr Brown said one way to tackle unemployment and at the same time climate change was to train people to install loft insulation.

TRAIN to install loft installation? Just read the instructions of the pack if you can’t work it out for yourself.

There will doubtless be a minister for installing loft installation soon and a 50 strong department to monitor training in this vital skill

I don’t give a monkey’s about loft insulation. Am still upset about banks getting unlimited funds whilst Rover went down the toilet. This is a total diversion with empty reference to climate change to make it look like the Luciferians give a Damn.

  • Doubtless he will be confiscating the dividends of the energy companies shareholders (including pension funds and endowment policies) to pay for the New Deal Insulators.

  • He may have finally lost the plot. Just now on the BEEB, whilst talking about the impending doom & a massive increase in unemployment, he states ‘we want banks to make funds available so people can buy houses! Why Gordo? Are you not more worried about joe public putting food on the table? The whole BEEB article stinks of popaganda. On how the credit crunch caused the property collapse (how about BONKERS house prices, BONKERS lending practices, BONKERS BTL brigade) and then the developers were next to go ’cause of pwoperty & then the banks. All because no-one is buying houses. How fookin selfish of the general public.

  • Hang on, a loft insulation engineer might be able to earn as much as 18k a year (if they work 168 hours a week)! that would mean they could get a mortgage @ 3 X salary of £54K not bad for an ex city banker.

Anyway I guess GB can no longer use ‘low unemployment’ in his mantra.

  • I think we need to show Gordon Brown a United Front. Such as every Potential FTB in the UK will not buy until they return to 2000 prices.

  • “Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated that unemployment was higher in America, Germany, France and Italy”

I really wish Labour would stop this comparision [email protected] I was listening to the radio earlier and they were talking about the rise in unemployment. The first thing the vacuous female Labour MP said was, “oh but it’s not as high as 1997”. That’s probably partly due the fact that the measure of unemployment is not the same as the number of people not in employment. Like the CPI, hospital waiting lists, and jobless total, all the stats are subject to Labour creating accounting techniques.

  • It was all based off house prices, look at our manufacturing, there is very litle left! Hence GB’s efforts to take lending back to 20007 levels (pre Aug)

Without “Tradesmen” becoming builders and employing cheap Easteren European labour on minimum wage, to build yet more luxury appointed flats that require more bricks to build more “Investment BTL housing”

+ All that MEW’d cash to upgrade the current home and pay for expesive holidays/flash motors and the retail fix….. What exactly does the UK make?

Our economy fed off itself on the way up, it will feed of itself on the way down. We need to make things!, but lack the skill.

  • What about the 2 million on incapacity benefit, on the sick basically, hundreds of thousands ‘incapable’ of working because of depression…. Maggie used that to hide the unemployable miners and its worse than ever, not in official ‘unemployment’ figures, the true figure off all people out of work must be 5 million.
