  • These sub-prime loss making deals are noteworthy.

A lot has been made of the capital “infusions” to the banks. What many people do not realise is that a capital infusion does not address the root of the problem, which stems mainly from the housing and land markets. If mortgage based securities or housing schemes fall over and houses are foreclosed, losses will continue to hit the books of the banks….and hit them…and hit them.

  • Just head the latest File on 4. Oh brilliant. It explain me why Barclays being the thrid largest sub prime trader did not have big losses.

They bundled it all up and sold to investors. With credit rating on these bonds falling from AAA to junk within a month.
