More pwnage from RICS

Estate agents struggle to sell one property a week

The slump in the UK property market continued in August, with some estate agents selling fewer than one home per week in the past three months. That meant that sales were running at levels 47% lower than in August last year. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said sales were at their lowest level since its monthly survey started in 1978. The balance of surveyors saying prices fell exceeded those reporting gains by 81 percentage points, compared to a downwardly revised 83 percentage points in July. RICS called on the Government to take more action to restore the confidence in the housing market.

    What, to support all the money making parasites. No consideration then that price falls will help those who actually have to stump-up huge sums of cash to buy.
    I couldn’t care a monkeys that EAs are going under. They’re not the ones taking a punt in very uncertain times.

    ‘pwnage’ / ‘pwned’ – some wierd term from internet gaming I gather from googling it. (pwned = completely trashed or beaten?). I maybe wrong.

  • renting2 @ 4 pretty close…it also has an air of humiliation about it. Derives from “owned” but has a wiff of “pawn” and “peon” about it . A very useful word and makes you look 133t. rflmao

  • The Mad Rapper says:

    Pwned = Power Owned

    It’s a very old internet gaming acronym.

    HTH!

  • 133t – nice.
    pwned just means owned (as in: I shot you dead and owned your punkass) but it’s often misspelt due to people typing quickly and the P being next to the O. Hence it became slang.

  • “A commonly used word to mis-represent “elite.”

    Frequently used by “script kiddies” to make themselves feel like hackers.

    A sure sign of a genuine loser.”

    No need. I have every faith in the market. Faith, that is, that prices will continue tanking and scum estate agents will be struggling – although they still have it too easy if they are selling one house a week given their absurdly high commissions
