Chancellor Darling Pushes Crumbing British Economy Over the Edge

Gordon Browns Darling chancellor finally showed signs of cracking-up at the week-end as the strain of continually toeing Gordon Browns party line of ignoring the financial and economics fundamentals by painting a repetitively bright picture for the British economy and financial system finally got to him. He commented: "Economic times are arguably the worst they've been in 60 years… I think it's going to be more profound and long-lasting than people thought".

  • Could the Govt short itself with tax payers money to bolster the coffers? Highly illegal and akin to insider trading I would imagine.

    Agree, in the same way those in the know could have bought cheap housebuilder shares last week and make a nice quick profit -of course it would be risky to hold them for very long IMHO.
    Glad I held onto my swiss francs from my last job, they’re doing well even if the interest rate is rubbish.
