E.ON and Scottish & Southern rise power prices by 30%
"More than ten million British households were dealt a fresh blow to their finances yesterday as E.ON and Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) became the latest power companies to raise gas and electricity bills by as much as 29 per cent." How much of this will appear on credit card balances?

The article makes no mention of a specific reason for the rise in gas prices – the recent closing for several months (until next spring) of a leaking Norwegian (Statoil Hydro) gas pipeline. This will have a significant impact on prices this winter. I hope this effect is already included in the price rises identified in the article.
