Record fall in house prices

Record fall in house prices

This was on the front page at lunch time, but would imagine it's been moved off for the "West End Final" Some interesting naive comments as ever at the bottom.

  • The property market is notoriously illiquid so big drop in prices is nothing new. Liquidity can sometimes be helped when liquidity in the banking system is available. The double whammy is that it is not the case, adding to the illiquidity already prevailing. More pain, no gain, that is what the property market looks like today.

  • I saw this – the Evening Standard has always been in denial on house prices so this must be a bitter blow for the editors’ private buy to let interests.

I saw this on the way home so they’re not as shy as they were.
Cracking headline as the tipping point (sic.) gathers pace.

    Ha ha! Brilliant:

“£11,000 higher than three years ago”

Exactly as predicted by us lot – 1 fear, 2 years, 5 years..
When will we have erased the full 10 years of the boom? 😉
