Mortgage lending hits a new low
Mortgage lending slowdown goes on
Official figures have underlined the slowdown in the UK mortgage market. The number of new mortgages approved for house purchases fell to 36,000 in June, down from 41,000 in May, according to the Bank of England.

A 69% fall in a year. SIXTY NINE PERCENT!!! For bubble watchers this must be amazing to see because it’s just confirmation that the bigger you allow a bubble to inflate the increase in downside risk of exponential falls. I’m stunned by the figures we are seeing for approvals and the like, the drops are immense and are only going to continue to grow through the rest of 2008. This is history!!!
