Of course everything will be ok by 2012, it’s THE OLYMPICS!!! Don’t you know Olympics solve everything? Maybe this is all part of a cunning New Labour plan: all the homebuilders (Barrett etc.) are shedding staff, so there will be thousands of unemployed builders desperate for a job on the new stadiums. Nah, they couldn’t be *that* clever.

Perhaps a good dollop of inflation will make them right. Then again it would have to be pretty big inflation.
