Inflation up again

Shock Increase in the Cost of Living

Even the government's figures can't conceal the increase in inflation. Of course the real rate is much higher than the 3% quoted here.

    Question is:
Is this an inflationary blip to be followed by deflation as the world economies slow down, reducing demand.

Or is this going to be stagflation brought about by excess money supply.

I guess it depends on how much money disappears from the system from falling share and asset prices. And how much money is pumped back in via the central banks.

Either way, I don’t see an alternative to stagflation or deflation. There is no way that the current high prices of assets, food, raw materials versus incomes can be sustained. (Stagflation effectively reduces prices anyway).
