Even the illegal immigrants have had enough

'We're fed up with the cold weather and the NHS,' say asylum seekers trying to break OUT of Britain

Failed asylum seekers are sneaking out of Britain - because they are fed up with the poor healthcare and bad weather. Scores have been caught trying to break past border controls in recent weeks, according to immigration staff. The majority of those who have been found are from Afghanistan and Iraq, said Les Williams, a chief immigration officer for the UK Border Agency.

Right, so, all of a sudden, as of today, asylum seekers have decided to jump ship. And this is seen as just as much a mad thing as the Mail’s reporting of them flooding our shores up until 12pm yesterday evening? It must be tough work for the Daily Mail keeping up with these “news” stories, what a difference a day makes! Journalism at its best, eh?!

Assuming there’s a word of truth somewhere there and some one actually DID try to flee Old Blighty, remind me please WHY anyone would pay millions of pounds installing a system to stop them leaving?

  • Have you noticed how the main stream media ply this contstant stream of fear then solution type stories. First were being flooded with immigrants now they’re all leaving, first we’ve got the worst finanical crises in living memory now everything is fixed. Utter utter rubbish, if the media say one thing then it must be the other, as they say believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.

  • the stopping them leaving is an EU regulation thing. An EU country is legally-bound to prevent the movement of illegal imigrants from its own borders to another EU country.

This is sort of funny becasue the likes of The Mail, Express, Sun etc will be crying foul. No doubt moaning that why stop them leaving. Fair enough, right? But hang on, are these not the very same people who have been saying that the French should have stopped them getting here in the first place. But this is totally different isnt it. Everyone should stop the movement of illegal immigartants except us, especially when they are probably going to France.

hypocritical as expected from the Beano-end of the news market

  • Only the Daily Mail could invent a story like this, or maybe the Daily Express.

Yes, rubbish press over there. Noticing too a real dearth of reaction from the BBC on the chaotic state of the Labor party and the last positively squalid election returns. Still the government arm I see.

The Daily mail is good for making logs for the fire. Ask your neighbours and friends for copies of the daily mail and put them in a bucket, rip them up and mix with water. cut the top off a 2 ltr plastic bottle and drill some drainage holes, push the soggy daily mails into the bottle and crush with a potato masher. take the log shape dail mails out and when dry throw on the fire. The log will burn for longer than it takes to read the Daily mail !

Don’t forget Paul Dacre, the Mai’s editor, is the nearest thing Gordon Brown has to a friend.

Tons of sources for this not least Dacre’s wikipedia entry but how about this Guardian diary story (last item):

  • It all depends which NHS hospital you visit, (and maybe whether it’s a binge drinking night).

Comparing A&E, Newham (E. London) has a much faster turn around than Basildon (Essex). The Essex boys are still spending their redundancy cheques, perhaps?
